To prevent unauthorized tampering of the PureSurf Desktop parental control program, the administrator password is required to uninstall the software. If you have forgotten the administrator password you can use the Forgot Password feature to change the password, then uninstall the software. This feature works in two ways depending on if it is the trial version, or a fully activated paid version.

Forgot Administrator Password (TRIAL)

  1. Right-click the PureSurf Desktop tray icon and click Forgot Administrator Password….
  2. Click the Authenticate… button, then click OK on the pop-up message.
  3. Enter your new password in the boxes provided, then click OK.
  4. Now you can uninstall the software using the new password you enter above.

Forgot Administrator Password (PAID)

  1. Right-click the PureSurf Desktop tray icon and click Forgot Administrator Password….
  2. Click the Authenticate… button.
  3. Enter the activation key you purchased (in the format PSD-XXXXXXXXXX), and click OK.
  4. Enter your new password in the boxes provided, then click OK.
  5. Now you can uninstall the software using the new password you enter above.
