SoftMaker Office 2018 for Windows rev 974.0203 is available through automatic updates. Pricing starts at $59.95 for Standard Edition. This update is free for all previous SoftMaker Office 2018 users. SoftMaker Office 2016 or older, Kingsoft Office, BinaryNow Office, OfficeSuite or 602PC SUITE users qualify for an upgrade discount. The list of new feature additions and bug fixes in 974 are as follows:
- Updating a table of contents now marks the document as “changed”.
- In the database window, searching with the “All fields” option works again.
- Fixed crashing when using the STRING function in a calculation with a negative repeat count.
- Fixed text frames in old documents no longer shown.
- New feature: The WEEKNUM function now accepts calendar types 11 to 17 and 21.
- Entering a date in U.S. format (mm/dd/yyyy) no longer converts it to dd/mm/yyyy.
- Fixed crashes when using a certain .pmdx file created by PlanMaker HD.
- The AutoFilter works again with negative numbers.
- If Presentations discovers broken OpenGL support in the operating system, it will auto-restart with OpenGL disabled.
BasicMaker
- Retrieving document statistics from TextMaker using BuiltInDocumentProperties now can return values above 65535.
- The NOW function is now supported in the 64-bit version.
Automatic updates
By default, SoftMaker Office 2018 for Windows keeps itself up-to-date by automatically downloading service packs. If you have not installed the automatic update tool or simply want to know if your version of SoftMaker Office is current, you can also check for updates manually.
Start one of its applications, click on the “?” icon in the ribbon and choose the command Check for updates. If you are running SoftMaker Office in classic mode with menus, choose the command Help > Check for updates.
