Kingsoft Office 2009 was recently reviewed by CNET. Familiarity with Microsoft Office was the biggest asset that provided instant usability.
Below is an excerpt from the review:
Kingsoft Office 2009 provides an excellent facsimile of Microsoft Office’s three biggest programs. With a pitch-perfect look and functionality, we were highly swayed by this program. Since we had a familiarity with Microsoft Office, we jumped right into this program’s word processing, PowerPoint presentation, and spreadsheet making capabilities…Since everything worked so well, we found this program to basically be a much less expensive version of Microsoft’s tools.

This is correct. Kingsoft Office 2009 and Kingsoft Office 2010 are installed as fully functional trial. Once trial expires they both get converter into free reader. If you want to edit file you will need to purchase a serial key. You can purchase one at:

I’ve just downloaded and installed Kingsoft Office 2012, the interface feels right at home compared to openoffice or other free/opensource office alternative.
@Officeguy I’ve tried to change my windows date setting to 2013 and it did not ask for a license.
Let’s see if it’s stable and runs well, i would remove IBM Lotus Symphony from my computer.

Kingsoft Office 2012 Free does not expires. There was bug earlier in this release which is now fixed. This version can be used free of charge for personal non-commercial use and have certain
technical limitations and pop_up with advertisement. Commercial version of 2012 is due in the second half of October. Meantime if you want to use Kingsoft Office for your business use current 2010 version. More information about up to date version can be find here:
