DemoCreator can package SCORM and AICC compliant content from Flash output

DemoCreator includes the ability to package Flash demos into SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or AICC compliance output for publishing to a learning management system (LMS). This allows you to add your presentation to any LMS that supports SCORM or AICC standard. Read below to see how this works.

Export to Flash as SCORM or AICC Package

Capture and author your presentation as normal, but when you go to publish the project, do the following to ensure compatibility with SCORM or AICC:

Click the Publish tab.
Click the LMS button.
Select the standard you wish from the list (e.g. SCORM 1.2).
Click Publish when done.

View SCORM Package Contents

DemoCreator will generate the SCORM package in the specified output folder, which is nothing more than a standard ZIP archive with all the necessary metadata and manifest information that is required by the learning management system. Open an existing presentation and export to PDF as follows:

Launch Kingsoft Presentation.
Click File – Open, select the existing .PPT or .PPTX file and click Open.
Now click the Export to PDF button on the toolbar.
Click OK to begin conversion.

Using the following example presentations, the maximum saving was 5 MB. Your results may vary, but the below presentations were found in the wild using the Google filetype search term (e.g. filetype:ppt).

Kingsoft Office File Type Support

Kingsoft Office can open all common Microsoft Office file formats (e.g. .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx). Do the following to being the PDF conversion process:

Open the document in the appopriate Kingsoft Office application.
Click the Export to PDF icon on the toolbar.
Select the objects you wish to to export to PDF (e.g. bookmarks, hyperlinks, etc.).

Create a self-signed digital certificate (ID) using Adobe Reader for use with Print2PDF

There are many ways to create a self-signed digital signature certificate (also called a digital ID), but Adobe Reader 9.0 provides the easiest way to generate and automatically store it in the Windows Certificate Store so it can be used with the Print2PDF signing function. Read below to see how this work.

Generate a Self-signed Certificate

Do the following to generate a self-signed key with Adobe Reader:

Launch Adobe Reader.
Click Document - Security Settings.
Expand Digital IDs on the left and then click the Add ID button .
Select A new digital ID I want to create now, and click Next.
Select Windows Certificate Store, and click Next.
Enter your information, when you sign a document, this will appear in the Signatures panel.
Select 1024-bit RSA from the Key Algorithm option (it is the most compatible).
Select Digital Signatures and Data Encryption from the Use Digital ID for option.
Click Finish to generate and store the ID.

Use the Self-signed Certificate with Print2PDF

After you generate the self-signed key, you can use it with Print2PDF. Do the following:

Print a document to the Print2PDF printer.
Enable the Add Digital ID feature.
Click Edit Digital ID…
Click Select… and choose your Digital ID from the list, then click OK.
Click OK again and choose Save to create the signed PDF.

Digitally sign and stamp an image signature to any file or form using Print2PDF

Print2PDF can digitally sign and stamp a hand-written image signature to any file or form. This example will use the simple IRS W4 Form (.PDF) that includes editable text fields, but does not include a PDF signature field. You can use Print2PDF to sign anything, even forms that do not have a standard digital signature field, by printing the document to the Print2PDF printer. Read below to see how this works.

Add Digital Signature

Print the form to the Print2PDF printer using Adobe Reader and do the following to add a digital signature:

Enable the Add Digital ID feature.
Click Edit Digital ID.
Click Select… and choose your Digital ID from the list, then click OK.
Enter the Reason and Location as needed.

Add Hand-written Signature Stamp Image

To add a stamp of your scanned hand written signature, doing the following:

Enable the Show image signature feature.
Click Browse… and select the image with your hand written signature, then click Open.
Select the option Manually place the signature and drag the signature to the location.
Adjust the Signature size slider as needed.
Click OK to confirm all Digital ID selections.

View Signed PDF Document

Click Save to begin the conversion process. If the Open in Adobe Reader option is enabled, the output will automatically open in your PDF reader. Click the Signatures tab on the left to see the details on the digital signature added by Print2PDF.

Capture Screen

Capture a new project and prepare for publishing. Follow these steps:

Launch DemoCreator and click the Record button.
Select Full Screen then click Next.
Choose Screen Shot then click Next.
Make sure all Record content checkboxes are enabled at the top, and click Next.
Now each time you click your mouse, a screenshot will be taken.
Click the DemoCreator icon in the system tray, and then click Stop.
Slides will now be generated based on your input.

Publish to Flash

These steps will save your project as Flash:

Click the Publish tab, select Video, and choose FLV as the Video format.
Click Publish to being the conversion process.
Below is what the .FLV result looks like.

Also, some important features have been removed: footnotes, endnotes, citations or bibliography, comments, track changes, and Pivot Tables. Add a digital text watermark with page numbers to a document using Print2PDF

Print2PDF can add a digital text watermark to identify the contents of the document to the reader (e.g. Draft, Confidential). Just print the document to the Print2PDF printer and enable the watermark feature. The software can also add the page number to the watermark text. Read below to learn more.

Add the Watermark

Just print your document to the Print2PDF print driver, and follow these steps:

Enable the Add Watermark option. Click the More >>> button if you do not see it.
Click Edit Watermark…
Enter the text you desire for Watermark text (e.g. DRAFT PAGE %P).
Click OK.
Click Save to begin PDF creation.

View Watermarked Document in Adobe Reader

Open the output PDF in Adobe Reader to see the watermarked document. You may need to repeat the print process and adjust the Watermark ink strength until you obtain the desired effect.

How to allow workbook sharing and merging with Kingsoft Spreadsheets 2010

Kingsoft Spreadsheets 2010 allows multiple people to access a workbook at the same time. This can be very handy when a workbook is in active use or development, and there are multiple people in your department who all have a hand in the process. This is a new feature of Kingsoft Office 2010, so make sure you have the latest version installed. Please note that only the native .ET file format can be shared.

Enable Workbook Sharing

Open the workbook you want to share.
Click Share Workbook from the Tools menu.
Enable the option Allow changes by more than one user at the same time.
Click on OK.
If the workbook is not in the .ET format, you will be asked to save the file in this format, click Save.

Insert Flash (.SWF) into a PowerPoint presentation with Kingsoft Presentation 2010

One of the many new features of Kingsoft Office 2010, is the ability to insert Flash (.SWF) content into a presentation. This will give you the option to easily include animation objects directly on a slide. Please make sure you have Adobe Flash Player installed on your machine, this is required if you wish to see the animation when you play the slide show. Read below to see how this works.

Insert Flash Object

Do the following to insert the .SWF object into your presentation using Kingsoft Presentation 2010:

Click Insert - Flash.
Choose the .SWF file you wish to insert.
Click Open.
Position the object as desired.
Click Slide Show – Play (or press SHIFT + F5 to start the show from the active slide)

Kingsoft Office 2010 Professional can now open all Office Open XML files. All applications in the suite can open .DOCX documents, .XLSX spreadsheets, and .PPTX presentations. This compatibility is required since starting with Microsoft Office 2007, and continuing with the recently released Microsoft Office 2010, the OpenXML file formats (ECMA-376) have become the default file format of MS Office.

Print2PDF batch document conversion from the command-line

Print2PDF batch conversion can be automated from the command-line to provide directory-based document conversion on-demand or integrated as a Windows Scheduled Task to provide daily conversion. Just copy the files to be converted into a directory and run the following commands to convert.

Use the following command to create a file list from a directory:

dir [path] /b /s > c:\filelist.ini
